Parks

Crace is big on space – in fact, it has 23% more land allocated to open space than the average suburb. Along with the wide, tree-lined streets, there will be parks and recreation areas. The central hilltop will be preserved as parkland, easily accessible from everywhere in the suburb. A more formal park will be a feature of the urban core, while additional green spaces throughout Crace will provide plenty of room to breathe.

Along with the wide, tree-lined streets, there will be parks and recreation areas.

The Recreation Park near the entrance to the suburb will have a formal garden for quiet relaxation, an attractive pond and wetland, a rebound wall for tennis practice, netball courts, and plenty of grassy area to kick a ball around or fly a kite.

In the suburban area of Crace, the street design takes inspiration from the best of ‘old Canberra’, with wide streets and pedestrian-friendly (even pram-friendly) footpaths. Instead of a maze of looping streets going nowhere, streets in Crace will be easy to navigate, with vistas to the surrounding hills and parks.
