Can't find the right spot for your community facility?

Thursday, 1 September, 2011

We're seeking expressions of interest from organisations, groups and businesses interested in purchasing a prime site located at the entrance to the suburb for the development of a community facility.

Because of its excellent exposure to Gundaroo Drive, a facility on this site would be well placed to serve the wider Gungahlin community.

Crace is calling for submissions from organisations, groups and businesses who are interested in providing a community facility on a site located at the entrance to the suburb.

As the Crace community grows, there will be opportunities for businesses or community-oriented organisations to provide services to enhance the amenity of the new suburb. The first site to be released for this purpose enjoys a prime location overlooking Gundaroo Drive.

Block 1 Section 46 is a 4500m2 site and is zoned for community use.  This includes a wide range of possible uses from a community activity centre to a retirement complex, from a hospital to a community theatre.  Full details of the permitted uses for the site can be found in the Sales/Land available section of this website.

Expressions of interest may be for the construction of a single community facility or an organisation may submit a proposal for shared use with other parties. Crace is open to a range of possibilities that will benefit the residents of Crace, by contributing to the life and wellbeing of the community.

Any building on the site will be required to protect the architectural integrity of Crace. That means that the design will need to be consistent with the general “look and feel” already established at Crace.

The expression of interest process will be conducted over two stages. The first stage is to identify suitable interested parties and submissions for this stage close on 00 August, 2011.  A second stage will invite a short list of organisations to submit a more detailed proposal including a business case for their proposed use.
