Prime time at Crace for Prime Minister Gillard
Thursday, 16 September, 2010
Sustainability was front and centre at Crace last Thursday when Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Minister for Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities Tony Burke visited the suburb to learn more about its green credentials.
On hand to meet Ms Gillard and Mr Burke were John Robertson from the Land Development Agency as well as CIC Australia's Chief Operating Officer, Tony Carey, who, along with Crace Design Manager Hoa Luu, led a short tour of the suburb's demonstration village to show off its sustainability features before representatives of the national media.
"Crace is clearly a national model for sustainability and has already received recognition for its environmental credentials from government as well as industry," says Hoa.
"The fact that the Prime Minister and Minister for Sustainability asked for a personal tour to see Crace's sustainability features for themselves is tremendous endorsement for our work here and proves that the word is spreading about this suburb as a model of innovation and environmental best practice."
